Dart Music International is an Austin-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works with small indie/rock/pop bands from around the world. We make it possible for them to come to Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico by decreasing costs on things like visas, logistics, and other services while increasing opportunities to earn some income through paying gigs and merchandise sales.
The mission of DMI is to enrich the cultural quality of life for all members of our community, irrespective of socio-economic status, by collaborating with international musical artists to introduce their culture to the people of our region. Our mission is important because the musicians we work with have a populist, “every man” perspective on their own society and culture that is often very different from the generally accepted view in the United States. Now there exists a physical space to meet, consult, discover, buy, sell, and trade. The mission is to foster and expand Austin’s community of electronic musicians.
